Design Week México

Established in 2009 by Emilio Cabrero, Andrea Cesarman, Marco Coello and Jaime Hernández, Design Week Mexico (DWM) is the country’s first organization dedicated to promoting Mexican design and to supporting its creative industries. DWM has become the leading platform in design for Mexico and Latin-America; each year, it produces a diverse program that establishes a dialogue between members of the creative community and the influential figures within the city’s cultural, academic, business and governmental spheres.

Over the years, DWM has built bridges between both public and private sectors, local community and philanthropy contributing to the building blocks of a multidisciplinary, expanded network that seeks to connect the dots between design, creativity, innovation, education urban planning and public policy.

Since its first edition, DWM has promoted the work of designers, architects and Mexican creative professionals. The fair heightens Mexico City’s rebirth as a city for the 21st Century through thought-provoking design, collaborative work efforts and community engagement. Through a platform of over 15 programmed events including exhibits, panels, conferences, workshops, urban installations and documentary screenings, DWM fosters the exchange of ideas and best-practices, inspiring encounters and rich dialogues within the local and international community; it reflects on the impact of design and its importance in our joint effort and co-creation of a sustainable future.
